Style Icon: Margherita Missoni

I visited Scotland over the weekend and was really excited to be staying near Hotel Missoni in Edinburgh. The hotel is beautiful and in accordance with Scottish tradition, the bell boy was even wearing a kilt made of Missoni's iconic zig zag knit fabric!

Missoni is one of my favorite houses and I especially admire Margherita Missoni's style. The way that she wears her family's brand is young, effortless and extremely chic. An article published by Telegraph.Co.UK  about her recent step up to Missoni's Accessories Designer describes the 27 year old;

"She is slim, but not 'fashion thin', and is free of make-up. Her luxe-hippy style means she regularly appears on best-dressed lists, and today she looks effortlessly cool in a white vest, black cotton trousers and a bronze Missoni cardigan."

Here are some of my favorite Margherita looks... truly inspirational:

It doesn't really seem fair that she gets to be a model, designer, actress AND was born into a family ruling in Italian fashion. Still, it is refreshing to read about how down to earth she is, and how much she seems to really love her new position. To get Margherita's look for less, check out these knit pieces to transition from late summer to fall:
